A 21K gold mithqal (5g) costs about $569, or around 957,000 dinars, on 2 November 2026, before workmanship. A simple guide for gold buyers in Iraq.
Iraq, Monday 2 November 2026. Here is today’s gold price in simple words.
Gold went up a little today, about 1%, after falling for most of October. It had dropped to its lowest level in a year on Friday. The main reason for the fall was nervous world markets and talk of higher US interest rates. Today, 21K gold is worth about $113.75 per gram at the Dubai benchmark.
What it means for you: gold is cheaper than it was in September, but it is moving up and down quickly. If you plan to buy, check the price on the day.
Example: one mithqal of 21K (5 grams) is about $569. At the Baghdad market rate of 168,250 dinars per $100, that is about 957,000 dinars. At the official rate of 1,520 dinars per dollar, it would be about 864,500 dinars. Shop prices add workmanship, so the final price will be higher.
Advice for customers: ask the shop to show the gold price and the workmanship charge separately. Keep your receipt with the weight and karat written on it. Pay only with money you have; never borrow to buy gold.
The honest caution: Gold can go down as well as up. Nobody can promise a price rise next week or next month.
